Good artists copy, great artists steal. The city is full of dilettante aesthetes who style themselves as destitute artists, striving to achieve beauty in an ugly world. Most are the well-heeled children of nobles, playing the role in lieu of a personality. Some, however, really do understand hunger and are willing to go to any length to secure their next meal.
